Where Are My Crossover Mac Files?
November 14th, 2008 Posted in Tutorial
Do you wonder where Crossover Mac puts all your files? They are buried deep in your directory structure, but are easily found.
Files for applications are in your “User Library”. For example, the files for user “david” will be found in david’s Library directory:
david / Library / Application Support / CrossOver / Bottles / default / drive_c / Program Files / …my_application… / … Files_are_HERE…
They might also appear in the following folder:
david / Library / Application Support / CrossOver / Bottles / win2000 / drive_c / Program Files / …my_application… / …Files_are_HERE…

For those of you who might want to know a little more about the underlying file locations and that sort of thing, you might want to check out our video on Bottle Management here:

Jon,
Thanks for your comment! And double thanks for all the work that goes into maintaining Crossover Mac. I know that a lot of people are getting more from their Macs because of the work you do.
The video you mention provides a great explanation on where to find files and how to manage bottles from computer to computer. Thanks for that!

You’re a difficult fellow to get hold of, David. :o)
Each time you write me, I respond, then there’s dead silence from your end. I think you’ve got a spam filter or some other problem disrupting your incoming mail.
In any case, hopefully you’ll see this comment and realize that I’ve not expired.
I do stop by and read your blog, Marla’s too.

Ben,
Sorry about that. Found the problem. Fixed it. Communication lines open now. Thanks for the note!
